Sam, alone in her apartment opens a letter that has been slipped under her door.

Taylor jumps over the fence of an abandoned factory. She starts to paint on the walls but notices a letter on the ground with her full name on it.

 

Alex is studying in the library when she finds a letter underneath her stack of books.

​

All three follow the instructions in their letter which leads them to an old house on the edge of town. Valentina welcomes them in and explains to them that all of them have a very special ability that allows them to travel to alternate dimensions. Taylor doesn’t believe Valentina and tries to leave but Valentina blackmails her. Valentina introduces everyone to Whisk who operates the command center that runs the dimensional portals. Whisk explains that the portals can only be opened by using a book to activate the portal door.

Valentina explains that The Institute is looking to gather as much information about alternate dimensions as possible and that everyone will be paid to do so. All three accept her offer.

​

Whisk gives them all communication devices and sends them into Alice in Wonderland. Inside they discover that this dimension appears to be the same as their own. Alex accidentally stumbles into a grove of talking flowers. Taylor picks one which unleashes an army chasing after them. Whisk manages to get the door open in time. Taylor’s flower disappears in the Anchor dimension.
